The booklet named KAMDHENU on animal husbandary was distributed to participants.
IMPACT OF THE SURVIVAL FEEDING & SUPPLEMENTATION ON ANIMALS
Sustained Milk Production - even in scarcity period -- milk production increased from 0.9 to 1.300 liter / day / animal in some cows. This has helped to continue the family income to sustain these earthquake victims, which are dependent on Livestock.
Migration of these families could be minimised due to the availability of feed support in scarcity period at village itself.
Heavy losses of the animal wealth due to starvation mortality could be minimised due to timely intervention. Negligible mortality or NO Mortality was reported during this period as against the 2 to 4 deaths per week were reported before supplementing the animals.
There are no reports of FMD outbreak in the animals that were vaccinated against FMD.
Long-term heavy losses due to starvation and diseases of the animals could be minimised due to the support given to these families.
The participatory management of the cattle camps has stimulated the process of confidence building between groups, community and leadership. This has helped in successful organisation of such camps.

KFW
KFW through HDFC Bank has assured support for post rehabilitation programme that will provide an assistance for a period of 2 years through 150 Housing Development in the earthquake affected areas.
